CURRICULA OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ADRIANO DOSSI
Born in Segrate, in the province of Milan, on 11/09/1991. After graduating from the Rudolf Steiner Art High School, he moved to Rome to begin his professional training at the International Academy of Theatre. In January 2011, he attended a course in Commedia dell’Arte techniques at the Académie Internationale des Arts du Spectacle, directed by Carlo Boso, and was selected for the production La follia d’Isabella, which toured in France and Italy from February to September 2011.
He worked with the theater company I Nuovi Scalzi in La Ridiculosa Commedia della Terra Contesa, which won Best Show at the Festival International de Théâtre de Mont-Laurier in Canada, where he was also nominated for Best Actor. He also performed in Pulcinella e Pasquale, debuting at the Kismet Theater of I Teatri di Bari during the festival Aspettando Maggio all’Infanzia.
He cultivated his two great passions—theater and communication—by completing two master’s programs:
Digital Communication Specialist at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
Corporate Public Relations at IULM University in Milan
He worked as a Digital Strategist at Luiss Guido Carli University, managing the communication plan for the Master’s program in Journalism and Multimedia Communication and the Luiss DataLab Research Center, directed by Gianni Riotta. Currently, he works as a digital media consultant at the strategic communication consulting firm Comin & Partners. Since 2009, he has been the president of the Illoco Teatro Association.
CECILIA CARPONI earned her Ph.D. in Music and Performing Arts in 2018 from the Department of Art History and Performing Arts at the University of Rome – Sapienza, in collaboration with IRET (Institut de Recherche en Études Théâtrales) at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3. In 2020, she held a research fellowship at the University of Rome – Sapienza, contributing to the Documentary History of Italian Theater project. As a scholar and researcher, her primary focus is on 20th-century European theater, with a particular interest in the history of acting, pedagogical systems for transmitting acting practices, theater anthropology, and various aspects of social theater. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and is the author of articles and scientific essays. Together with Andrea Porcheddu, she co-edited the volume La malattia che cura il teatro (The Illness That Heals Theater), published by Dino Audino in 2020. In collaboration with IAC-Centro Arti Integrate, she curated the publication Matera Città Aperta (Matera Open City), published by CuePress in 2021. She collaborates as an assistant and subject expert with the Chairs of History of Theater and Performance and History of Directing at the University of Rome – Sapienza. She is the editor-in-chief of the university theater criticism journal Le nottole di Minerva, published by the SARAS Department at Sapienza. At the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro, she teaches Psychology and Theater Pedagogy, Didactics of Physical and Vocal Training, History of Theater Theory, History of Performance and Directing, and History of Cinema. Since 2019, she has collaborated with the Illoco Teatro company, managing organizational aspects related to productions, training activities, and initiatives for promoting theater culture.
DARIO CARBONE, actor, was born on June 15, 1990, in Desio (MB), Italy. He began his theatrical training in 2007 with the association "Teatrando." He continued his studies at the School of Theater Arts Binario 7 in Monza under Luciano Colavero, whom he encountered again in 2012 while attending the preparatory course at the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Arts. He studied modern singing with Maestro Francesco Lori, operatic contralto Adele Galli, and performer Carlotta Tommasi. In 2013, he studied the Strasberg Method with Marco Oliva at the Centro Studio Oltreunpò. That same year, he moved to Rome, where he won a scholarship to the Centro Alta Formazione under the direction of Massimiliano Bruno, graduating in 2014 and performing in R&G tutto questo è già successo, directed by Simone Leonardi. Shortly after, he joined the Illoco Teatro company as an actor and organizer, participating in various productions, including: Cuntami, La versione di Shlomo, Le voci (winner of the Mamimò Giovani Direzioni award and featured at the Almada Festival as a representative of "O Novissimo Teatro Italiano"), Sogno di una notte di mezza estate (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Coriolano (Coriolanus), and U-Mani (winner of the national Pina and Benedetto Ravasio Foundation award). Alongside his work with the company, he has taken part in several operatic productions directed by Graham Vick. He was selected as a cross swing and later as company manager for ShowBees during the tour of Potted Potter. Additionally, he has lent his voice to video games and multimedia content, venturing into voice-over work. He continues to cultivate his passion for music and singing as a member of the rock band Artisans. In Rome, he has furthered his theatrical studies under the guidance of Lilo Baur, Roberto Andolfi, and Andrea Bartolemeo. He has also taken his first steps as a teacher, conducting workshops for Illoco Teatro.
ANNARITA COLUCCI is an actress, performer, director, and theater instructor. Born in Matera in 1987, she joined the Permanent Laboratory for the Art of Acting of Hermes Teatro Laboratorio, led by Emilio Andrisani, at a very young age. There, she deepened her study and research of ancient tragedy and folk theater. For six years, she was an actress with the company. In 2005, she moved to Rome, where she obtained a professional diploma as an actress and assistant director at the Accademia Internazionale and graduated in Performing Arts from the University of Rome La Sapienza. She developed her technique with masters from various disciplines, including theater, dance, tap, music, singing, aerial acrobatics, elements of nouveau cirque, set design, costume design, lighting, and puppet theater. She furthered her education at the Kultur University in Istanbul and worked with directors and masters such as Emma Dante, Davide Iodice, Alessandro Serra, Lilo Baur, Lindsay Kemp, J.J. Lemetre, Mimmo Cuticchio, and Vladimir Olshansky. Since 2009, she has worked with the company Ondadurto Teatro, participating in major international open-air theater festivals across Europe, South America, and Asia, as well as international residencies. She has continued her study and research in dance theater, acrobatics, and image-based theater. In 2012, she founded Illoco Teatro, where she writes and directs numerous productions, including Le Voci (winner of the Giovani Direzioni award and selected as a representative of "Novissimo Teatro Italiano" at the Almada International Theater Festival in 2016), Cuntami, Lumen, and Umani. From October 2013 to 2018, she collaborated with the Department of Arts and Sciences of Performing Arts at La Sapienza University. She coordinated and organized the project Per fare il teatro che ho sognato (To Create the Theater I Dreamed of). Since 2016, she has collaborated with the Associazione Identità Mediterranee. For the Archaeological Park of Paestum, she directed La Boulè, Le Supplici (The Suppliants), and I Persiani (The Persians by Aeschylus) in 2017. Since 2013, she has worked with Scienza&Scienze, led by Roberto Mancini, and the University of Tor Vergata, contributing to various projects that bridge theater and science, including Imma, the Festival of Sciences, and Fulmini di Zeus. Since 2017, she has been a lecturer in the First-Level Academic Diploma Course in Acting at the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro in Rome, teaching Manipulation and Acting with Objects, Textual Analysis, and Costume and Makeup Design. In recent years, she has lived and worked in Rome, collaborating with various European theater companies, as well as artists, musicians, dancers, performers, and videomakers. She has delved into the techniques of puppet theater and theatrical forms that explore an aesthetic in which gesture, objects, machinery, and movement contribute to creating a dreamlike theatrical suspension. This aesthetic influences all dimensions of her scenic writing and direction, forming the foundation of her philosophy of training, production, and spatial engagement.
ROBERTO ANDOLFI began his theatrical training at the young age of 14, studying under director Filippo D’Alessio, with a focus on classical texts and voice work. In 2008, he graduated as an actor from the International School of Theatre – Biennial Professional Training Program. He furthered his studies through workshops and courses, including: Introduction to Commedia dell’Arte with Manuel Fiorentini; La Rosa Bianca workshop with Maurizio Donadoni; Breathing and Diction workshop with Stefano Lantufi; Diction and Acting workshop with Cinzia Mirasolo; Absurd Theatre course with Manuel Fiorentini; Choral Singing course with Dr. Stefano Cucci; Comic Theatre workshop with Pierre BylandSince 2003, he has performed with various theater companies in numerous productions, including: Il mio Infinito by E. Dickinson, directed by F. D’Alessio; Les Femmes Savantes by Molière, directed by F. D’Alessio, part of the "Passeggiate Teatrali" project promoted by the Province of Rome; Arlecchino Servant of Two Masters; The Night at Colonus by E. Morante, directed by F. D’Alessio; Cyrano de Bergerac by E. Rostand; Romeo and Juliet, directed by R. Mancini; The Bald Soprano by E. Ionesco, directed by M. Fiorentini; Le visioni di Prospero and Tivúcumprá, directed by S. Marcotullio; MOSTRO!, written and directed by M. Fiorentini. Since 2009, he has taught acting, voice, and diction at the International School of Theatre, now the International Academy of Theatre.
Since 2008, he has toured Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany with the production Clownarchia, in which he is both director and actor. He also played the lead role in Shakespeare’s Tales, directed by R. Mancini. In 2012, he presented Come un pesce nell’acqua frizzante (Like a Fish in Sparkling Water) at the Teatro La Vittoria in Ostra, taking on both writing and directing duties. Since 2012, he has collaborated with the company Ondadurto Teatro as an actor and scriptwriter in numerous productions, including Aire, Crash Flight, Arlecchino va alla guerra, and C’era una volta. In 2014, he co-founded the company Illoco Teatro with Annarita Colucci and Adriano Dossi. Within the company, he works as a director and actor, focusing on contemporary image and puppet theater.
